This Roman Villa was the first property out Rome. It is a beautiful and historic residence set in its own gardens, surrounded by secular pines and cypress trees.

Swimming pool. Comfortably and elegantly furnished with antiques and paintings by genuine masters. It is the home of Bernard, the author-host, Eleonora, his wife, and their children. Just 15 minutes by car and train from the centre of Rome.
Beneath the garden lie the remains of an ancient Roman Imperial villa.

Booking periods: Preferably Sat. to Sat. There may be an extra charge for part weeks.
Meals prepared at home with a historic or regional theme available at approx. $24/person including wine.

- Water: Lakes 20 minutes, seaside 40 mins, acquaparks 30-60 mins.
- Health: Spas and thermal baths 30-60 mins./ massage can be arranged at home.
- Hosted exploration: half or full day can be arranged by appointment with the host and author.
- Literature and Guides: some of these written specifically for this project and about this property. Available to guests. See "Messengers of
Civilisation".
- Movies: selection of English language film classics about Italian civilisation (eg. "Julius Caesar" with Marlon Brando)
- Workshops: short workshops during your stay by arrangement:
- Italian and Mediterranean cookery and recipes (also holistic).
- Learning to make Italian and Roman ceramics and mosaics.

The apartment is fully equipped and linen is changed on a weekly basis.
